Sandy Von Thelen

Alexander “Sandy” Von Thelen has 28 years of financial services, retirement planning, and investment management experience. He graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.

Sandy is a long-time member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Greenwood, Virginia, having served as its treasurer for over 30 years. He also is the church's cemetery custodian, head of the friendship dinner group, a regular usher, and serves on several vestry committees. Additionally, he is the president of the Lee Jackson Educational Foundation, a philanthropic organization that sponsors history scholarships to Virginia high schools and colleges, and supports battlefield preservation. Sandy is a big-time bridge aficionado and has played with the same foursome for over 30 years. He is married to Kristin Grace Rambusch of Manhattan, New York.

 

Brad Armstrong

Brad has helped clients create plans to grow, protect, and enjoy their wealth for more than 10 years. He holds his Series 7, 66, and Life & Annuities licenses. In addition to investment management, he guides clients through comprehensive financial planning, including the evaluation of insurance strategies and implementation of reliable income distribution plans. Brad frequently coordinates with other experts, such as estate attorneys and tax advisors, to provide clients with comprehensive wealth management advice.

Brad grew up in Culpeper, Virginia, where his family has lived for more than 250 years. He is married to Charlottesville native, Megan McKeel Armstrong, and they have two sons, Adam and Owen. Brad is a graduate of James Madison University's Integrated Science and Technology Program, where he specialized in Environmental Information Systems and Information Knowledge Management. He and his family are avid fans of the outdoors. Whether it's fishing in the Outer Banks, hiking in the Shenandoah National Park, skiing at Wintergreen, kayaking and tubing on the Rivanna, or running between golf, soccer, swim, and lacrosse practices, he and his family are always up for another adventure. When not “on the go,” Brad thoroughly enjoys cooking meals for family and friends, focusing on the exceptional ingredients from local farms.

 

Ellen Doyle

Ellen has been an assistant in the securities industry for over 20 years and has her Series 7. She graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College.

Outside of the office, Ellen enjoys ballet, swimming and reading, preferably a good mystery series. She and her husband, Jerry, have two children and three grandchildren.
